Putting it Together
We’re running through Headwaters: Birth, Death and Places In-Between with lights now, and it’s beginning to come together as a show. There are still elements missing – costumes don’t come until Monday – there’s lots of line memorization still to be done, and a big horse puppet to complete, but last night Jerry Stropnicky and I agreed we’ve got a show in here.
Here are four short video clips to give you an idea of where things are. Remember, this is a rehearsal, so you’ll see some missed lines and the occasional deer-in-the-headlights look. It’s shaky-cam, all hand held, but interesting nonetheless.
A segment from the shape note song Idumea, which asks the question "Am I Born to Die?"
A bit of the opening number, "My Mama Told Me"
A portion of the Act 2 opening number, "Ain’t No Place"
Part of the monologue "Man in a Suit" performed by Sara Drueke
